B: Just five of the things we have in common! 

What is your favorite activity or hobby not related to books?

S: Travel. And not like around the world travel, although that would be ah-mazing. Unfortunately, our bank account only allows for exploration within a few hours of our backyard. But that’s okay! There are so many things to see and experience, and, since we are a military family, our backyard changes every few years so our possibilities of discovery never run out.

B: There really is an endless number of things to do and see all over our country. For a weekend warrior style traveler, moving every few years is a pretty good deal!

Describe yourself in five words

S: Awkward, Introvert, Empathetic, Peacemaker, Kind

B: Yes, you are! I consider myself most of those things too… especially the first few, lol!

Share your inspiration behind Molly.

S: Well, this isn’t so much inspiration behind the story as it is one of the characters. The hero in the story, Ben, is a single father with a crazy adorable four-year-old daughter, Chloe. I myself have a spunky just-turned-six-year-old daughter. See where I’m going with this?

That’s right. I didn’t have to look far or remember too far back to all those preschool antics and belly-rolling conversations. So, if you read the book and you ask yourself if something really happened or if a young girl really did say such-and-such, chances are about 99.7% that, yes, that scene or dialogue was taken from actual events.

B: Oh, how sweet! I can’t wait to hang out with your little one in fictional form!

What is your next release and/or what are you working on now?

S: The next book in the Sewing in SoCal series comes out in October. This book will feature Jocelyn, a big city budget analyst trying to fake-it-till-she-makes-it at the corporate retreat taking place at a family-owned dude ranch. But as much as she knows nothing about horses, she knows even less about handling the resident reticent cowboy on the cattle ranch.

B: This series sounds like so much fun, I can’t wait to get them in my hands and on my shelves! Thank you for chatting with us, Sarah!
