Welcome to Wishing Bridge FLF

Hi, reader friends! Goodbye, August! Check out the first line of Welcome to Wishing Bridge by Ruth Logan Herne below, then open the book nearest you and share the first line!

It has been so good to get back into the swing of things this week! Unfortunately, WordPress and MailChimp aren’t playing nice so those of y’all who signed up for post update emails received a manual update from me yesterday.

My web host’s technical support department is looking into the situation and I’m hoping for a speedy fix. In the meantime, get signed up if you haven’t already because I have a whole stack of books ready for exclusive newsletter giveaways! Then go ahead and add betherin[AT]faithfullybookish.com to your email inbox’s safe sender’s list.

Find ebook deals under $2 and print deals under $5 on the shop page! As always, I only share books from authors I am familiar with or those that have been recommended to me by a well-read friend. Feed your ereader or Kindle app or try the Kindle Unlimited program or take the 2 free audiobooks Audible trial for a spin! Whichever way you choose to enjoy your stories, I wish you hours of happy reading this weekend!

Don’t do it. Kelsey McCleary stared straight ahead as the wipers slapped thickly falling snowflakes from her windshield.

I just started reading and listening to the audio narration of this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription and I love it already!

  1. I don’t think I’ve even received your manual email 😦 Technology can be so annoying sometimes! Glad to hear you’re all doing better, though!

I’m featuring ‘Shadow Sister’ by Katherine Scott Jones on my blog today, but right now I’ve just started reading ‘The Raveling’ by Tamara Leigh. At last! I’ve been waiting to find the time to read this one!!

“He had lost a son he had not known he had–providing the child was his.”

    Have a great weekend!

  2. What a pretty cover! (And don’t you just hate those website and email gremlins?)

I’m sharing the first line from Justice by Emily Conrad on my blog today. It was an unexpected read – the cover gave me the impression it was a historical romance, but it was most definitely a contemporary.

The body was on the front seat of my truck, about halfway between the passenger door and the cloth grocery bad I’d left in the middle of the seat.

  4. I love Ruth Logan Herne’s books! I’m sharing the first line of “A Worthy Rebel” on my blog today. I’ll share the first line of my current read, Sarah Loudin Thomas’s “A Shot at Love,” here: “Fleeta hunkered low, careful not to rattle the crisp fallen leaves all around her.”

  5. Thanks for sharing this one. I just added it to my TBR! 🙂

Over on my blog, I’m sharing the first line from Lynnette Bonner’s High Desert Haven. Here, I’ll share one of my favorite lines from Crossed Out by Christina Coryell (her contribution to the Once Upon A Laugh novella collection):

Kids at yard sales were nearly impossible to corral. Grandmas watching kids at yard sales were like wild mustangs, throwing caution and endless quarters to the wind.

    Have a great weekend!

  6. Great first lines. They pull you right into the story. I’m not posting a First Line Friday this week because I simply don’t have time. I just became a great-aunt yesterday and am entertaining family from out of time. Some things are simply more important than reading. This is one of them. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Here, I’m sharing lines from Keira Montclair’s Falling for the Chieftan. It’s her new historical time travel romance.

“Allison Sutton’s feet hit water as she plunged into the murky liquid at the base of the cascading falls.”

    Happy Reading!
