A Most Noble Heir blog tour

Hi, reader friends! Today, we welcome back our author friend Susan Anne Mason as part of her new release celebration tour!

about the book

A Most Noble Heir by Susan Anne MasonWhen stable hand Nolan Price learns from his dying mother that he is actually the son of the Earl of Stainsby, his plans for a future with kitchen maid Hannah Burnham are shattered. Once he is officially acknowledged as the earl’s heir, Nolan will be forbidden to marry beneath his station.

Unwilling to give up the girl he loves, he devises a plan to elope–believing once their marriage is sanctioned by God that Lord Stainsby will be forced to accept their union. However, as Nolan struggles to learn the ways of the aristocracy, he finds himself caught between his dreams for tomorrow and his father’s demanding expectations.

Forces work to keep the couple apart at every turn, and a solution to remain together seems farther and farther away. With Nolan’s new life pulling him irrevocably away from Hannah, it seems only a miracle will bring them back together.

my thoughts

Fans of Downton Abbey, upstairs-downstairs, and rags-to-riches romance… brace yourselves, this story is about to knock your stockings off!!

Nolan Price is a determined and hard-working (inescapably handsome) young man of faith, integrity, and loyalty. He’s also completely and entirely blindsided when his world is turned upside down by his mother’s final confession (who wouldn’t be?!).

Nolan makes then executes plans… intending to seek the Almighty’s guidance but not always slowing down long enough to actually do so (I can definitely relate… motivation is good, seeking God’s will is better!) Hannah Burnham is a humble kitchen maid and devoted sister.

Struggles with insecurities and unmet expectations in her relationship with Nolan lend Hannah an endearingly authentic personality. The many challenges that Nolan and Hannah experience in their relationship with one another and their families and friends kept me on the edge of my seat page after page!

Delightful romance, intriguing mystery, complicated familial ties, and genuine faith earn this book a place among my all-time favorites! I highly recommend this story and would love to see a sequel featuring one of the sisters!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review. The opinions expressed are my own.

What struggles would you imagine a stable hand facing if he was suddenly thrust into the aristocracy?

  1. I think if a stable hand would facing lots to adjust to if he was suddenly thrust into the aristocracy. It would be like someone from a previous generation being thrust into the computer generation with no explanation of who things work.

  3. Reading this blog review about Nolan Price as a “young man of faith, integrity, and loyalty” is all it takes to make me want to read it. Love that kind of male lead. Besides, the book cover is gorgeous. 🙂

  4. I imagine it would be challenging and maybe not as “fairytale-like” as one might expect. He would feel the expectations and demands of his new status, in regards to how he should act, speak and address others – especially those in an a lower status he was a part of all his life. That’s a huge life change. I’m excited to read how it all works out.
