q&a
Do you have a favorite bookish habit?
T: Yes! I may have more than one. I collect bookish tees, (I think I’m up to 5. Heading for 7 for one each day of the week), book cozies, and novelty items (typewriter pencil holder, bookish tissue holder).
B: What fun! Way to embrace the bookishness!
What is your reading style?
T: My reading style could be described as continuous using a smartphone app, Kindle, or a print copy. It doesn’t matter what I read on as long as I get to read. I’m already over 100 books for the year.
B: Yes! This is my life. You’re living the dream!
What is your next release and/or what are you working on now?
My next release is The Truth About Fame which is book 2 in the Faith & Fortune series. And I’m currently working on some Christmas novellas I’ll be releasing later this year.
B: I. Can’t. Wait!
What’s your writing style?
T: I’m a totally pantser. The only thing I know before sitting down to write the first draft is who my characters are and what their backstory is.
B: This is amazing to me!
Do you have any writing quirks?
T: I do have some. For instance, I like to wear my ugly writing sweater. It’s gray probably made from wool and a total eyesore, but it keeps me warm (I run cold). I also have to break out some socks and lap blanket if I get really cold. I also have a secret pinterest board I keep up for visuals and a Spotify playlist for the specific book I’m working on. All of that helps me meet my daily word goals. ?
B: Blankets, sweaters, and cozy socks are year-round apparel for me, too! Thank you for chatting with us, Toni!
about the book
The Trouble with Love by Toni Shiloh (Faith & Fortune book 1)
Release Date: May 26, 2020
Genre: Christian Chick LitI, Holiday Brown, have it all. A platinum record. Multi-million dollar home in Manhattan that I share with my two best friends. Life is looking fantastic until my roommate’s brother decides to bunk in our guestroom while his house gets renovated.
Emmett Bell has always been the bane of my existence. He’s annoying, stubborn, a know it all, and just might be the most gorgeous man I’ve ever laid eyes on. But I refuse to fall for him. Then his sister’s threatened by a stalker and dynamics change. His unwavering faith isn’t quite as self-righteous as I’d always thought, and maybe he has a good side I’ve overlooked all these years.
Or maybe it’s all too much trouble.
The Trouble With Love is the first book in the Christian Chick Lit series: Faith & Fortune.
my thoughts
My mind tells me that I don’t have much in common with a wealthy, city-dwelling celebrity musician. However, my reader heart established an immediate kinship with Shiloh’s relatable characters. Skillfully written authentic complexities breathe life into this story through struggles, doubts, and genuine soul-searching or, more appropriately, Savior-searching.
Unapologetic faith issues share the pages with simmering attraction and sizzling animosity while an unknown threat lingers in the periphery. The Trouble with Love is an engrossing and inspiring read that I couldn’t bear to put down and therefore devoured in one day. I highly recommend this story as well as the author’s backlist to readers everywhere!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review. As a co-owner of JustRead Publicity Tours, I received compensation from the publisher and/or author to coordinate a promotional tour for this title. The opinions expressed are my own.
