Happy Friday, reader friends! Today’s featured title is from one of the newest additions to my shelves! Check out the first line of Five Days in Skye by Carla Laureano below, then open the book nearest you and share the first line!
Yep, I’ve picked another title from my July Book Haul! Since life and other inconveniences are keeping me from reading them right this minute, I figure peeking at the first lines and sharing them with my reader friends is the next best thing!

“At least they couldn’t fire her.”
Okay, it is painfully difficult to set the book back on the shelf after reading that line! Soon! I will read this book for the very first time sooooooon!!! These are things I tell myself to ease the shelf shame and tbr hives. We should sit down have a nice chat about tbr probs some time soonish!
My dear book sister Carrie (Reading Is My SuperPower) has been telling me to read this book (and the entire MacDonald Family series) for at least the last three years. I’m happy to be one step closer to enjoying these stories especially since I’ve greatly enjoyed Laureano’s work! Check out Carrie’s original review of Five Days in Skye!
Check out my reviews of Carla Laureano’s most recent releases then go to Hoarding Books to find more FLF bloggers!
I would be off & reading that book so fast, there’s no way I could put it back on the shelf!!! Happy Friday!

I just finished A Glitter of Gold by Liz Johnson but I’m about to start The Healing Jar by Wanda Brunstetter so I’ll share that first line here: “Tears sprang to Lenore Lapp’s eyes as she stood with the others who had come to witness this special English wedding.” Happy reading!

Here’s the first line from my book club’s next selection — Cost of Betrayal. It comes from the novella by Dee Henderson. “Ann Falcon eased toward the front of the crowd.”
