I loved this one. I didn’t realize what I was getting into when I started it and almost hit pause on the audiobook and stuck it out and really enjoyed it. My current read is not CF, so no First Line this week. However, I did just realize a new Kimberly Rae Jordan book came out, so I’ll be starting that ASAP.

My copy of this book just came in! I cannot wait to get to it.
Over on my blog, I am featuring Heather B. Moore’s novel, Worth the Risk. I am very excited to read that book. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun.
Here, I will post from the novel I am currently reading, A Refuge Assured by Jocelyn Green. It is an AMAZING story that I am enjoying wholeheartedly. I am just starting chapter 29, so I will share the first two lines from this chapter.
Asylum, Pennsylvania
July 1795
Still damp with morning’s dew, the cool earth soiled Vivienne’s apron as she knelt in her garden, tugging weeds from between iris and yarrow. Geese soared overhead, soft brown chevrons against a sky of robin’s-egg blue.

My first line also comes from A Refuge Assured. I’ll share the first line from Chapter 5, which is what I’m ready to read.
For the third consecutive night, Vivienne was awakened by bloodcurdling cries from the other side of the wall.
I am thoroughly enjoying this book, and can’t wait to continue my reading of it! 🙂
