Shiloh, Israel
“With one finger I followed the rippled path of my shame down my face. The scarred ridge of the crescent moon of Ashtoreth cupped my cheekbone in a cruel embrace.“
I reviewed this book for RT a few months ago so you don’t find my review here on Faithfully Bookish (sadness, I know, but doing a few paid reviews helps me offset costs here). What you WILL find is a fabulous setting spotlight + giveaway courtesy of the author!

Happy Friday!
My first line comes from a book I will be reading soon, August and Everything After by Jennifer Salvato Doktorski…..

I loved this one. I didn’t realize what I was getting into when I started it and almost hit pause on the audiobook and stuck it out and really enjoyed it. My current read is not CF, so no First Line this week. However, I did just realize a new Kimberly Rae Jordan book came out, so I’ll be starting that ASAP.

Over on my blog, I am featuring Heather B. Moore’s novel, Worth the Risk. I am very excited to read that book. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun.
Here, I will post from the novel I am currently reading, A Refuge Assured by Jocelyn Green. It is an AMAZING story that I am enjoying wholeheartedly. I am just starting chapter 29, so I will share the first two lines from this chapter.

Still damp with morning’s dew, the cool earth soiled Vivienne’s apron as she knelt in her garden, tugging weeds from between iris and yarrow. Geese soared overhead, soft brown chevrons against a sky of robin’s-egg blue.
