About the Book

My Thoughts

Grounded Hearts fully captured my attention and reader heart! This book is delightfully immersive and engaging and reading it is an experience I won’t soon forget! The rich setting and intriguing historical circumstances saturate the story with a cozy rainy day atmosphere. Bake some cookies and grab your favorite blanket, reader friends, you won’t want to put this one down!

Nan O’Neil is a compassionate and self-sacrificing young woman in need of a big ol’ hug! The demands of her position as the village midwife and the hardships she has faced weigh her down. Honestly, there is more than one man from Nan’s life who I’d like to give a swift kick in the pants. I admire her spunk (hidden carefully beneath her reserved nature) and her determined work ethic.

Dutch Whitney is a natural leader and protector with a strong sense of duty. He has a wholesome boy-next-door charm and a genuine tender heart. I can’t think of anything I don’t like about Dutch, those Canadians are just so stinkin’ amiable! Truly, he’s a maple syrup dream boat and I love the way he makes waves in Nan’s doldrum life. I adore the way honest compliments effortlessly and frequently flow from Dutch’s heart.

Overall, I am amazed and delighted that this is Ms. Dickson’s debut novel, just WOW! I can’t wait to read more stories from this promising author.

About the Author

Jeanne was born into an Irish-American family, the only girl in a family with four brothers. Her Irish grandmother lived with them and was a constant source of stories about life in Ireland and the saints and ancestors long gone from this earth. She credits her mother, her aunts, and grandmother for her love of storytelling.

Today she lives in Coastal San Diego with her fabulous husband, her two wonderful girls, and a dozen disobedient rose bushes.

Jeanne writes romances set in WWII Ireland and also contemporary romances either set in Ireland or with Irish/Irish American characters.
