What is your favorite activity or hobby not related to books?
S: I am an avid home DIY-er. I love to remodel and redecorate. And hubs and I are scuba divers so whenever I’m not tearing apart a room, I’m sixty feet down exploring the great big blue.
J: Guitar, sleight of hand, golf, hiking with Darci, waterskiing, photography, woodworking, scuba diving … do I ever get bored? Uh, no.
D: I love attending or participating in local theater. Acting is one of my favorite things to do when I’m able to find the time and earn a part in a show.
B: My husband and I are also DIY junkies! I participated in musical theater productions in high school but not since then. Mr. Rubart, you are just too cool with all those great hobbies!

DJW: The True Lies of Rembrandt Stone series was a long time coming. Ages ago (probably around 2012) Susie and Jim were on a short plane ride together from Asheville, NC to Atlanta. They started talking about someday writing a book together and their shared love of time travel stories.
Then in mid-2016 Susie came up with the idea of Rembrandt Stone, called Jim and asked, “Are you in?” Jim laughed and gave the only appropriate response: “Are you kidding?”
Susie asked her son David to join the team and in February of 2017, the three gathered at Jim’s home in eastern Washington (after Susie and David battled a Seattle and eastern Washington snowstorm) and brainstormed all six of the stories. So yes, it took a while from conception to release, but it turned out to be the perfect timing!
B: That is one crazy journey!
What is your next release and/or what are you working on now?
DJW: We’re releasing the entire series this year. The next release is book 2, No Unturned Stone in April, then the rest of the series in June, August, Oct, and November, so we’re all hard at work on getting the final polish on each of the remaining stories.
B: What a whirlwind!
What book(s) are you reading right now?
S: Rachel Hauck’s To Love A Prince
D: I’m currently reading Raymond E. Feist’s Riftwar Saga.
B: Susie’s book is no surprise and David’s makes sense but I’m just in awe of Jim’s reading habits! I applaud you, Mr. Rubart!
What is your reading style?
S: E-reader. At night on my porch swing.
J: Favorite way is a physical book. Second place is audiobooks (great for car rides, working out, working around the house) and third place is on my Kindle. Where? Anywhere! When? Any stolen moment, but my favorite time is just before falling asleep.
D: I prefer to read on an e-reader. Reading on my Ipad, I can scroll up, instead of side to side, and I just gobble up the words that way.
B: I can’t choose between print and my Paperwhite, gotta have both here! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit with us, James, Susan, and David!
