Happy Tuesday, reader friends! I’m linking up with That Artsy Reader Girl again for Top Ten Tuesday & the topic this week is: “Favorite Things to Eat/Drink While Reading.” The short answer is nothing. When I’m engrossed in a good book, I forget about trivial things like sleeping and eating. However, on occasion, I’ll deliberately grab a little something to eat or drink while I read (that pesky survival thing and all)… so, here are my top ten go-to reader snacks!
ten of my favorite reader snacks
roasted and salted almonds
These are hard to keep in the house because everyone loves them! I’m not a fan of any other flavor or the pull and peel variety but I’ve had an affinity for the classic strawberry for as long as I can remember.
I try indulge in liquid chocolate heaven too often because it can be so addicting and my metabolism isn’t as active as it used to be! Although I don’t have a favorite hot chocolate brand, I do like to add a dash of cinnamon.
fresh apple cider
I LOVE apple cider! Hot or cold, this is one of my favorite parts of autumn. It’s probably a good thing for my waistline that the best fresh apple cider is only available seasonally.
We eat apple nachos all the time! The Kirkland peanut butter we buy at Costco is so nice and runny that we don’t even have to heat it up to drizzle it over the apple slices and I love to sprinkle the whole thing with mini chocolate chips! I’ve seen suggested toppings that include caramel, pecans, and even broken chocolate candies

And in case you’re wondering, yes, I shop in bulk but not from Amazon (it’s just so easy to use their pics)! Not only do we have four growing kids with big appetites but I’d rather be reading than grocery shopping! I’m a Costco & ALDI gal but we order items from Walmart and hit our local Ruler and Dollar General in a pinch!
