Favorite Books from the fringes: Top Ten Tuesdays

Happy Tuesday, reader friends! I’m linking up with That Artsy Reader Girl again for Top Ten Tuesday & the topic this week is: “Books I Enjoyed That Are Outside of My Comfort Zone.” I enjoyed these stories so much that many of them are actually among my all-time favorites. Here’s my standing ovation for ten authors who crafted some of my favorite books from the fringes!

Morgan L. Busse

Fantasy is not my thing, y’all! Okay, yes, I have a mild to moderate Avengers movie fetish but when it comes to books and fantasy, I don’t go there. Or at least I didn’t until Morgan L. Busse… now I’m hooked to her books at the least.

 

Katie Ganshert

When it comes to cover love, I’m drawn to people and nature and honestly most days, I’ll choose a happily ever after over an all the feels type of story. Katie Ganshert delivers thought-provoking and emotionally stirring stories that are worth every moment of reader angst.

 

Lindsay Harrel

I am not a fan of women’s fiction. Too touchy-feely, too much “let’s work out all our relationships and friendships,” too much drama, too emotionally exhausting… but Lindsay Harrel infuses just the right balance of romance in her stories! Plus her latest release has an irresistible historical timeline!

 

Ronie Kendig

 

Hooah! Tactical gear and secret ops are enticing additions to a romantic hero, there’s no doubt about that! Take the romance out of the spotlight and add unexplainable supernatural elements…. and that’s a hard sell for me. However, I’m a Ronie Kendig fan through and through because she is that good at what she does and I really really like it!

 

Joanna Davidson Politano

Mysteries fill me with an inescapable feeling of foreboding, it’s not a sensation I particularly enjoy. Joanna Davidson Politano’s intoxicating wordsmithery is enchanting and her quality prose completely distracts me from my usual aversions.

 

Cara Putman

Cara Putman’s intense romantic suspense sits on the edge of my suspense tolerance level. I just can’t take this high octane action, y’all! But I also can’t resist a well-crafted story so bring it on… I’ll sleep with the lights on if I have to!

 

Natalie Walters

I’m not sure how I was brave enough to even attempt to read this book (in fact, I may have committed before I saw the cover). I did read it and yes, it kept me on the edge of my seat and up until the wee hours of the night but boy, what a ride and I want some more!

 

Catherine West

Drama, emotion, and the gritty truths of life are inescapable and Catherine West writes raw yet poignant stories that rock my reader heart to the core. I am currently on a crying book break during this season of life but once things settle back down, I plan to dive in once again!

 

Abigail Wilson

The word “shadow” in the title of this book was a red flag for me but it was highly recommended by a trusted friend and her recommendation was right on! I really enjoyed this book despite my strong gothic vibe aversion!

 

Jaime Jo Wright

These beauties took some serious self-talk before I was able to move past the gloomy, creepy covers. Now that I’ve had sufficient time to recover, I purchased Jaime Jo Wright’s third novel in a recent book haul!
