Hello, reader friends! We’re joining a blog tour today for Soldier On! As I mentioned in yesterday’s October favorites post, my hometown high school football team is participating the sweet sixteen round of state playoffs. A little personal trivia for y’all, we made it to the playoffs my junior and senior years so I’ve been feeling a bit nostalgic.
My guy played the center position and I was a cheerleader, rah-rah! So, despite the fact that we haven’t attended more than a few games since we graduated way back at the turn of the century… it looks like we’re taking the family to a tailgate party and playoff game this weekend!

“Meg Winters gnawed on the tip of her thumbnail, her petite frame huddling over the yellow paper as she reread the items. Tapping her pen at each line, she paused only to tuck her hair behind her ear each time it fell loose against the page.”
Since today’s featured author is blessing TWO readers with cozy prizes, I figured two first lines was the least I could do! ?

Ooh, this looks like a great read as well. Thanks for the giveaway, Beth!
I’m sharing about “A Lady of a Thousand Treasures” by Sandra Byrd over at my blog, but I’m almost finished reading, “The Bullying Breakthrough” by Jonathan McKee. So my first line will come from there.
It’s 6:37 a.m., and I haven’t slept for hours.
This has been an emotional project for me, probably the toughest I’ve ever tackled. Not because the research has been any more burdensome or the topic more daunting, but because never have I heard so much anguish and hurt.
Happy Friday! Hope you have a wonderful reading filled with lots of good books to enjoy. ?

Happy Friday! This week on my blog I’m featuring Everything She Didn’t Say by Jane Kirkpatrick but it’s also the book I’m currently reading so I’ll share the first line from my current chapter (13) here: “Doing what I haven’t ever done before has become a kind of purpose for me.” Hope you have a great weekend with plenty of quality reading time!

Today on my blog I’m sharing the first line from An Hour Unspent by Roseanna White. Currently, I’m reading The Cumberland Bride by Shannon McNear. This book is SO good, I’m absolutely loving it. I’m on chapter 28, so I’ll share a line from there:
“The women came for her very shortly after, and while leading her off, they shooed Crying Bird away.”
Hope you have an amazing weekend filled with great reading time! ???

What a nice giveaway! I’m sharing from my current read, Temptation Rag by Elizabeth Hutchison Bernard. Here is a line from the top of page 9:
“She thought she would never tire of watching him at the piano, his fingers caressing the keys, a look of such tenderness on his face as if he would gladly die for each and every note.”
Happy Friday & have a wonderful weekend!
