about the book
The Goodbye Bride by Denise Hunter
She only remembers loving him. But he canโt forget the way she left.
Following a concussion, Lucy Lovett canโt remember the last seven months of her life. She doesnโt remember leaving her fiancรฉ Zac Callahan weeks before their wedding or moving to Portland, Maine. And she sure doesnโt remember getting engaged to another man. All she remembers is loving Zac more than life itself.
Itโs taken Zac months to move on after Lucy left him with no explanation. Heโs thrown himself into his familyโs farm and his restaurant business in Summer Harbor. Now Lucyโs back, vulnerable, homeless, and still in love with him. She needs his help putting the pieces together, but letting her back into his life is a riskโand the stakes are high.
If he follows his heart heโll win back the love of his life. But if her memory returns heโll lose her all over again.

my thoughts
This book would make a wonderful movie, I can just imagine sweet southern Georgia and distinct Mainer accents intermingling on screen. I love how Denise Hunter brought out a full range of emotions for the heroine and hero. Lucy was scared and vulnerable, spunky and sassy, and everywhere in between. Zac is an irresistible hero, risking his heart to protect the one who broke it in the first place.
The Goodbye Bride is an engaging story and I couldn’t put it down. In addition to the romance, mystery, and humor, there is a deeper message about the power our past can have over our future and God’s unfailing love. I’m anxious to read the other two books in the series especially after a glimpse of those characters in this story.
I received aย complimentary copy of this book fromย the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review. The opinions expressed are my own.

When Denise isn’t orchestrating love lives on the written page, she enjoys traveling with her family, drinking good coffee, and playing drums. Denise makes her home in Indiana where she and her husband have raised three boys and are rapidly approaching an empty nest.
