Five Favorites: Cover Love

Toni: It was so hard to pick a five favorite topic. I have so much going on in my bookish brain. 😉 I finally decided to share my five favorite covers in the contemporary romance genre that I’ve read this year.

Beth: I heartily approve of your decision!!! I love to ogle book covers so you just say the word and I’ll toss the pics up!

Toni: Here you go! (In no order)

Wrapped in Red by Meghan Gorecki

Wrapped in Red

Toni: Y’all, this cover is stunning! Seriously, I didn’t care what the blurb said because I wanted this book based on the cover alone. And I can practically hear Kelly Clarkson sing and imagine the cover models in a cocoon of romance, complete with snow and Christmas. Pure magic!

Beth: Agreed! All the red plus the snow make this cover simply dreamy!

Can’t Help Falling by Kara Isaac

Can't Help Falling by Kara Isaac

Toni: I wanna fall too! That was the first thought I had when I saw this cover. It screams romance, trust, and pure safety in the arms of the mysterious hero on the cover. Another one I didn’t bother reading the blurb. Why would I when it screamed romance and happily ever after?

Beth: Definitely cozy and cuddly PLUS the guy has handsome facial hair and that’s always a plus in my book!

Just the Way You Are by Pepper Basham

Just the Way You Are by Pepper Basham

Toni: So I would have read this book regardless of what the cover looked like, just because it has Pepper’s name on it. But y’all, seriously, the look of joy on Eisley’s face is enough for me to reach for the tissues in preparation for a good read. Because seriously, a look that happy has to have some pitfalls somewhere in there and oy vey!

Beth: I’m delighted to read anything Pepper writes but this cover with its romancy blue script and cozy couple is my favorite of hers (so far!)

All of You by Sarah Monzon

All of You by Sarah Monzon

Toni: Utter contentment. I sigh every time I look at this cover. Doesn’t Jackie look so content? And not the bad word content (aka settling). She’s utterly happy with the man she chose and it shows!

Beth: Absolutely, her face is completely peaceful and he gives off a strong and driven vibe

Count Me In by Mikal Dawn

Count Me In by Mikal Dawn

Toni: How totally cool!!! I wanted to go running after the bride and groom in the picture of Mikal’s debut novel. It promises fun and hilarity. I read this blurb not because the cover didn’t do it justice because I had to see if there was a peak of humor. After reading the line, “she just wants a latte” I died laughing.

Beth: I LOVE what Mikal did with the stripes here, the colors pop, and the scenery is absolutely stunning!

Toni: Every one of these covers is the epitome of the books’ mood, story, and romance. I look forward to future covers from these authors.

Beth: Me too! These ladies are must read authors for me!

Toni: Finding Love is the story of Delaney Jones. If you’ve read book one in the Maple Run series, Buying Love, you’ll probably remember her. Delaney’s sad heart spoke to me. She told me her fears and told me she had a story. And she was quite adamant that she did not want to fall in love with another military man. So of course, I threw Luke at her. I really enjoyed writing their story.

Finding Love by Toni ShilohDelaney Jones has finally started to pick up the pieces of her shattered life after the death of her husband, Parker. Just as life enters a new normal, in walks Army soldier, Luke Robinson. Just when she makes the decision to trust him, life deals her a heavy blow.

Sergeant First Class Luke Robinson can’t get over his part in the death of Delaney’s husband. In hopes to assuage his guilt, he offers to lend a hand. Only, he never counted on the feelings she evokes with just a smile. Will his secrets widen the gulf or will he finally find absolution?

Beth: This book might need a disclaimer… May cause cravings! Oh, but this sweet love story is even more delicious than all the tummy teasing food!

What are you working on now?

Toni: I’m working on a Christmas novella. It feels like forever since I’ve written a new book. I’ve been doing edits and revisiting older novels to get them ready for future publishing. So writing a new story and a Christmas one at that has been exciting and not without its trials. 😉

Beth: Christmas in July, I love it! Thanks so much for stopping by to chat about favorites and book news, Toni!

  1. Oh, I love all the covers listed here. I’m not a huge fan of people’s faces on book covers but these are so well done! I’m quite partial to Kate Breslin’s book covers and Kristy Cambron’s book covers.

  2. So…when I look at these covers, Toni, I see the “appeal” of the covers…but I also see you being humble and generous by sharing YOUR author spotlight with five other authors! 🙂 One of my favorite covers is from a debut mainstream author, Abby Fibiaschi — I LIKED MY LIFE. I think it’s super clever and intriguing.

    1. It’s much deserved. 🙂
I can’t wait for book three to release either, in that nervous-sick-to-my-stomach-will-they-like-it kind of way.
