My Thoughts

Why do those high school insecurities cling to us for so long? They are dormant for years and yet they can flare back up at any encounter with a former classmate. These four small town friends are determined to bolster their confidence by finding dates for their ten-year reunion… even if that means online dating!

I’m not a single mom but I do recognize mom-guilt and Angela has a bad case of it! She’s carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders and it’s not hard for her friends to convince her that she needs some fun in her life. Unfortunately, Angela’s dates flop one by one at the small town coffeeshop.

Barista Drew caught my interest from the first time Angela met him and she might deny it but I think she noticed him, too! Drew is definitely denying the attraction but he can’t resist the drive to protect a vulnerable single mom and her little boy. He may look like a bad boy but Drew has a heart of gold.

Jo has a characteristic few leading ladies can claim, she has spent years of her life battling an illness. I especially enjoyed discovering the ways her physical weakness have inspired her fierce drive for independence. Sadly, Jo feels unworthy of a happily ever after.

Carter doesn’t want to risk his little girl’s heart on another person who will just break it and walk away. With his parents standing in the gap by providing loving care for his daughter while he works, Carter only plans to go on one date to appease his mother’s matchmaking.

Morgan sees herself as the black sheep in their small town and after graduation, she vowed to leave and never come back. She puts on a strong independent front but her artistic inspiration has fizzled as bitterness over a damaging prank took root.

When it was time to grow out of the “pick on the girls because you like them” phase, Slater was a late bloomer. His prankster ways earned him the opposite reaction his heart desired from a special one of a kind beauty. Slater seizes the opportunity to make it right, seek her forgiveness, and hope for something more.

Mary Beth is convinced she’s safe from the online dating pact until her boyfriend breaks up with her instead of popping the question. Bless her heart that’s bad enough but the rumor mill goes to town with news of the proposal and she has to find a home for a sweet rescue dog or risk being kicked out by the land lady.

A date with Christian is Mary Beth’s last chance to save face at the reunion but he just wants to focus on getting his business off the ground. He is a brilliant man yet he could learn a thing or two about matters of the heart. Mary Beth and Christian make a plan to benefit them both but falling in love isn’t part of the plan.

Sure, these stories are sweet and entertaining individually but why have one sweet when you could be enjoying a big delicious dessert? Plus books have zero calories so, get them all and indulge in the reading equivalent of having your cake and eating it, too!

I requested the opportunity to read and review these titles through the authors. The opinions expressed are my own.
