When Love Arrives by Johnnie Alexander

When Love ArrivesDani Prescott came to the children’s hospital to spy on Brett Somers–so how did she end up on a date with him? Weeks earlier she’d seen an interview in which he blamed her mother for the plane crash that had killed his parents. But the crash had killed her mother as well, so Dani can’t believe the story Brett’s trying to sell to the media.

Vowing to find a way to discredit the privileged–and maddeningly handsome–Brett, Dani has been following him and taking photos, hoping to find something she can use against him. But when she catches his eye instead, she quickly finds herself offering up a fake name and agreeing to a date. Brett knows this mystery girl is hiding something–but he’s got his own secrets to keep.

What will happen when he discovers who she really is? Will Dani and Brett look beyond their own heartaches to discover a love that could heal their deepest pain?

Fresh, flirty, and fast-paced, “When Love Arrives” is an engaging story that will have readers falling in love with the characters as they navigate the tricky waters between romance and revenge.

My Thoughts

Have you ever noticed people have a tendency to behave badly when they are hurting? Don’t you just yearn for the brokenhearted to find healing in a story? My heartstrings got a workout from a few of the characters in When Love Arrives!! Readers can expect healing, forgiveness, and restoration in an engaging and entertaining story.

Dani Prescott is a hurting and lonely young woman. She blames a large portion of that hurt on the careless and angry words of a spoiled, wealthy businessman and she’s determined to make him sorry. Dani finds herself in quite a pickle when Brett notices her and then wants to spend time with her.

Brett Somers is at the point in his life when the scales are falling from his eyes. For the first time, he is beginning to regret his selfish lifestyle and the pain he has caused. It seems so natural that he would be attracted to a good girl like Dani once he gets a glimpse of his cousin’s happiness in Where She Belongs.

Dani’s impulsive vengefull intentions towards Brett don’t soothe the ache in her heart the way spending time with him does. It was wonderful to be reunited with AJ, Shelby, Meghan, the children, and their four-legged friend from the first book. I’ve marked my calendar for book 3’s release and look forward to Amy’s story with great anticipation.

I requested the opportunity to read and review this title through Net Galley and Revell Reads. The opinions expressed are my own.
