Hello, reader friends! Author friend Mindy Obenhaus is joining us for a quick q&a as part of a JustRead Publicity Tours blog tour and giveaway celebrating A Brother’s Promise!
about the author
Award-winning author Mindy Obenhaus is passionate about touching readers with Biblical truths in an entertaining and sometimes adventurous manner.
She lives on a ranch in Texas with her husband, two sassy pups, countless cattle, deer, and the occasional coyote, mountain lion, or snake.
When she’s not writing, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, and watching copious amounts of the Hallmark Channel.
q&a
Describe A Brother’s Promise in five words.
M: Adorable child sparks unexpected romance.
B: Awwww, how super sweet!
Share your inspiration behind A Brother’s Promise.
M: I’d have to say that our little town inspired this story. A few years ago, we moved from the “big city” to a rural community for retirement, but I was struck by how many people in the area had brought their families out here. They wanted a slower pace of life and to feel as though they were part of a community. The entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in these small towns and I wanted to show that.
B: I love my own little hometown so I can completely relate!
What book are you reading right now?
M: Jill Lynn’s Choosing His Family
B: Oh! That’s a wonderful story! Happy reading!
What is your next release and/or what are you working on now?
Book three in my Bliss, Texas series, A Future to Fight For, is slated to release in August and I am finishing up the final book in the series. It’s a Christmas story and those are always fun to write, no matter what the time of year.
B: I’m so happy to hear about all these stories set in Bliss!!!
Do you have any writing quirks?
M: When I’m struggling with a scene, I know I have to step away from the computer and get back to basics. There’s something about a pen and paper that really gets my creative juices flowing.
B: There are certain things that simply require a pen and paper! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit with us, Mindy!
