my thoughts
The wilderness landscape and perilous winter weather play a major role in the adventure and romance which unfolds across the American and Canadian Rockies.
Noelle is a driven and determined young lady with big plans and dreams. I admire her willingness to learn and work hard while braving the dangerous wilds of the Rockies. She is resourceful, open-minded, and big-hearted. Imagining her reaction to seeing those majestic peaks for the first time then boldly venturing into the unknown (with a qualified guide) gave me chills of excitement.
Daniel has grown-up in the wilderness of the mountains, has the skills to survive and even make a living there, yet maintains a healthy respect of the ever-present perils. I adore his sweet canine companion and his gentlemanly regard for Noelle. Daniel’s unique heritage creates an additional layer of vulnerable authenticity to his rugged mountain-man persona.
As always it’s a joy to revisit old friends and Beller delights faithful fans with these throwback moments to previous installments without alienating new readers in the process. This Courageous Journey is an excellent addition to the Heart of the Mountains series.

She was raised on a farm in South Carolina, so her Southern roots run deep. Growing up, her family was close, and they continue to keep that priority today. Her husband and daughters now add another dimension to her life, keeping her both grounded and crazy.
God has placed a desire in Misty’s heart to combine her love for Christian fiction and the simpler ranch life, writing historical novels that display God’s abundant love through the twists and turns in the lives of her characters.
