Hurricane Season FLF

Hi, reader friends! I’m still here! Today’s featured title is from one of the newest additions to my shelves! Check out the first line of Hurricane Season by Lauren K. Denton below, then open the book nearest you and share the first line!

We’ve enjoyed a few days of gorgeous and seasonably cool weather and now we’re bracing for the return of smothering heat and humidity. I owe y’all a couple of reviews and while I’m still trying to get back in the swing of things, I’m hoping to have those up next week.

Find ebook deals under $2 on the shop page! As always, I only share books from authors I am familiar with or those that have been recommended to me by a well-read friend. Feed your ereader or Kindle app or try the Kindle Unlimited program or take the 2 free audiobooks Audible trial for a spin! Whichever way you choose to enjoy your stories, I wish you hours of happy reading this weekend!

She usually stayed in bed until at least six, but this morning she was restless, like animals get when the barometric pressure drops before a storm.

Those barometric swings throw me for a loop, too! Denton is a new to me author and I’m looking forward to making my way through the tbr to this pretty book!

  1. The book I’m sharing on my blog is “His Bluestocking Bride” by Sally Britton. Here, I will share the first line from Chapter 17. “Tucked up in her favorite chair by the library fire, Ellen turned the page in an interesting volume on the subject of astronomy.” May you be able to fully enjoy your weekend!

  2. I’m sharing from Formula of Deception by Carrie Stuart Parks on my blog. It’s a standalone thriller, not part of her Gwen Marcey series, and it’s set in Alaska – always a great start! I don’t have a line to share here because I’ve been editing this week, not reading, and the first line might change. I’ll be sharing it just as soon as I get permission from the author 🙂

  3. My first line comes from The Choice by Robert Whitlow,,,

    Rutland, Georgia, 1974

Sandy Lincoln nervously twirled her long blond hair around her index finger.

    Happy Friday and happy reading!

  4. I’m sharing lines from A.L. Jackson’s upcoming release More of You on my blog today. It’s a second chance romance.

Here, I’ll be sharing lines from My Kinda Forever by Lacey Black.

“It’s a Summer sister tradition that on the first Saturday of each month, the six of us get together.  We take turns picking the location or activity, anything from margaritas and a movie to wine and painting classes at the small uptown gallery.  One thing, though, is as certain as the sun rising over the Chesapeake Bay every morning: there will be alcohol  involved. “

    Happy Reading!

  5. Such a good book! I’m featuring my newest book by a favorite author, Early Riser by Jasper Fforde. I flipped a bit forward to page 15, so I could share a line:

“There was an intake of breath. It was the mission statement of the Campaign for Real Sleep, sort of a rallying cry.”

    Happy Friday!

  6. I have this one on my TBR!
The book I shared this week on my blog is A Changed Agent by Tracey J Lyons. Shockingly I’m not reading a book right now because I finished one last night and was gone all day today. This won’t be a reading weekend for me but I’m enjoying a busy weekend with friends and family. Hope you have a great weekend!

  7. Happy Saturday! ????

Yesterday on my blog, I shared the first few lines from Monstrous Beauty by Carol E. Keen. I’m just really getting into the book, so I’ll share another line from that book here:

“Tucking an errant group of hair behind her ear, Annabelle Giles planned out her morning.”

Hope you have a great weekend filled with excellent reading time! ????????
