Happy June!!! Summertime is here and the weather is ripe for sitting quietly inside and reading a book! Oh, is that just me? Well, everyone makes a big to-do about summer reading (I think we need to raise the bar to “all the time reading” but baby steps, right?!) In order to encourage y’all and your little readers, we’re delighted to share tried and true kids favorites (books or series) from our family’s collection. The Book With No Pictures by B.J. Novak has been so much fun for all of us! Feel free to return the favor and tell us all about your kid lit favorites in the comments!
About the Book
What could be fun about that?
After all, if a book has no pictures, there’s nothing to look at but the words on the page.
Words that might make you say silly sounds… In ridiculous voices…
Hey, what kind of book is this, anyway?
At once disarmingly simple and ingeniously imaginative, The Book With No Pictures inspires laughter every time it is opened, creating a warm and joyous experience to share–and introducing young children to the powerful idea that the written word can be an unending source of mischief and delight.

What do y’all think about a children’s book with no pictures?
(Don’t forget to tell us all about your kid lit favorites in the comments!)
I help run a mommy & me group for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, and at the end one of the parents reads a story while the kids eat a snack. We have one dad that brings his kids, and he read this book- everyone was rolling! It was hilarious! There’s a video of BJ Novak reading it to a group of kids that’s pretty funny, I bet you could find it on YouTube.
