What most blessed my heart at the Christian Fiction Readers Retreat in Nashville, TN last month was the unity shared by authors and readers as sisters in Christ. We encouraged one another, worshiped together through song, and prayed together.
One author even included a prayer she wrote for readers in each participant’s take home bag. Debby graciously allowed me to share that prayer with you here.
Thank you, Debby!
The Reader’s Prayer
Lord, thank you for giving me a love for reading.
Lead me to books that entertain and uplift and touch my spirit for good.
Open my heart to find the message in each story that reflects your sacred truths
and helps me to see more clearly the path I am to walk.
Be my inspiration and my guide,
and ensure the books I read draw me ever closer to you.
Amen.
About the Author
Debby Giusti is a medical technologist who loves working with test tubes and petri dishes almost as much as she loves to write. Growing up as an Army Brat, Debby met and married her husband–then a Captain in the Army–at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Together they traveled the world, raised three wonderful Army Brats of their own and eventually settled near Atlanta, Georgia, where Debby spins tales of suspense that touch the heart and soul.
Debby’s stories have won numerous awards, including two Daphne du Maurier Awards for Inspirational Suspense, the National Readers’ Choice Award, the Golden Quill, the Beacon, the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence and the Write Touch. Her eighteenth book, PLAIN TRUTH, releases in September 2016, and an Amish Suspense Trilogy follows in 2017. In addition to full-length fiction, Debby has written magazine articles for Southern Lady, Woman’s World, Our Sunday Visitor, Army and Family, and served for over twelve years on the editorial advisory board of ADVANCE for Administrators of the Laboratory.
