I’ve missed all y’all this week!!! Honestly, I’ve missed adult interaction in general. Between working overtime and visiting a loved one, hubby has barely been home long enough to eat a meal and sleep this week.
You’d think that would mean MORE time for blogging, right? Alas, no. Without adequate hubby/daddy time, our home is a tense biome of needy children (two under the weather) and a binge cleaning mama. We’re also on a coloring kick, I’ve been forcibly conscripted into the crayon corps… send help.
So, our house is cleaner than it’s been in months and I have half a dozen reviews swimming around in the chaos of my mind. I am sorely tempted to drag a batch of cookies, a tub of ice cream, and a stack of books into a locked room and not come out for a day or two.
Lord willing, we will be resting, snuggling, and unwinding this weekend. No matter how crazy life gets, I can always escape with a book!
Here’s the most recent book I’ve started reading:
Told You So by Kristen Heitzmann
“Devin Bressard scarcely blinked when Grace tossed her sweet tea in his face.”
I love Kristen Heitzmann’s Diamond of the Rockies series but this is the first of her contemporary titles I’ve had a chance to read.
So, open the book nearest to you and post the first line in a comment below!
Then go see what these First Line Ladies are up to:

If you’d like to share the First Line Friday fun on your blog, let Carrie know!
Ohhhh!!! LOVE this one!!!
“The Pilot’s bringing the plane back?” Ariana Atkins, chief of secuity and asset protection for the San Diego International Airport, swiveled away from her desk and stared at her senior security manager.

Oooo I need to read “Told You So” soon (I say that about so many books … seriously. LOL.) My first line at the moment is from Kelli Stuart’s Like a River From Its Course — “Papa! Papa!” The screams lift from my chest but I don’t feel them escape.

I think I picked up a digital copy of that one… this week is fuzzy. I need a nap!

I’m just about to crack open a new book that I’ve been looking forward to! Dana Mentink’s newest “Fetching Sweetness”, the dog on the cover is so cute!!! 🙂
“Stephanie regretted driving over the wedding cake”
Now I’m even more curious to start this, I think locking myself in the spare bedroom, kicking my feet up in the recliner and putting my “Do Not Disturb, I’m reading” sign on the door is in order, lol!

That sounds like an excellent idea, Trixie! I’m anxious to start that book too!
