My Thoughts

I finished this book with a satisfied sigh of contentment! I love both historical and contemporary fiction and this dual timeline story has a heathly dose of both! I felt an immediate kinship with Charlotte. She doubts herself and wrestles that hopeless feeling of being an outsider. Oh, the blessings we miss when we listen to the wrong voice!

Charlotte feels adrift when the discovery of a vintage wedding dress sends her on a journey of discovery.  My, my, if that dress could talk! Well, the dress obviously can’t talk but that doesn’t keep Charlotte from talking to the dress. I love that! She hashes out her troubles and updates the dress on her latest discovery.

Although each bride has a very different experience while wearing it, there is always evidence of God’s grace. What a beautiful reminder to step back and look at the big picture, stop listening to the lies, and embrace who it is He created you to be!
