When You Look at Me: First Line Friday

Happy Friday, reader friends! Let’s check out the When You Look at Me first line! I’m up to my ears in a loft bed DIY project for my girls but hopefully, I’ll be able to finish it up and share some pics on Instagram in a few days. The craziness around here is returning to a manageable level and I’m forming a plan to tackle my oversized tbr… read like a boss and pray for words to flow when I swoof!

Julia Jenkins was a glass-half-full person.

That is just one of the many reasons why I love her! The When You Look at Me first line sets the stage perfectly! I adore this story and all the cupcakes and cookie dough, bluegrass and jazz, Britallachian wonderfulness! Julia and Henry are so sweet and courageous and genuine. No amount of fangirling would do this story justice so perhaps it’s best I was tapped for a professional review…

  1. Happy Friday! I’m currently reading The Merry Lives of Spinsters by Rebecca Connolly. I love regency romances and this one is very well done. I will share the first line from Chapter Eleven, which I’m about to begin. “Being profoundly labeled a spinster by all who knew her didn’t preclude Georgie from deriving pleasure from certain things just as she had when she was first out.” I wish you a wonderful weekend.

  3. This book was so good (a five-star read for me)!! ?

I’m currently reading A Picture Perfect Christmas by Candee Fick, so I’ll share that first line: “Liz Foster collapsed against the couch cushions and buried her hot face in a decorative pillow.”

    Have a fabulous weekend!!

  4. Oh, I just finished Pepper”s book and absolutely loved it!

I’m featuring Just Let Go by Courtney Walsh: He shouldn’t be here. A diner in some little tourist town in Michigan was no place for Grady Benson, but here he was.

    Have a great weekend!

  5. Happy Friday!

Today on my blog I’m sharing the first lines from All Things New by June Foster. I’m at the 25% mark, so I’ll just share a couple lines from there:

“Though Jett wanted to see how the labor progressed, the medical conditions had change. Jillian had to bring the baby into the world now.”

    Kind of intense! ?

Hope you have a great weekend filled with excellent reading time.

  6. I’ve heard a lot of great things about that book this week!
This week on my blog I shared A Light on the Hill by Connilyn Cossette but I’m currently reading Tell Her No Lies by Kelly Irvin so I’ll share the first line from the current chapter (8) that I’m on: “Upstanding citizens of the community did not lead double lives.” It’s not an easy book to put down! Hope you have a great weekend with plenty of quality reading time!

  7. Happy Friday! I’m sharing from A Season of Grace by Lauraine Snelling on my blog. Here’s the first line from a book I treated myself to this week, His Promise by Shelley Shepard Gray:

“It’s snowing again,” Grace King said to Snooze. “If it keeps up, we’re gonna have a white Christmas. Won’t that be something?”
