I love Lenox! Today’s featured book review is A New Shade of Summer by Nicole Deese, the third in the Love in Lenox series.
about the book
A New Shade of Summer by Nicole Deese
As an artist, Callie Quinn relies on inspiration to guide her wandering soul. This summer she accepts a short-term muralist job in her sister’s charming town to spend some much-needed time with her family. After meeting her nephew’s friend, Brandon, she’s eager to draw out his untapped artistic talents—however, it’s the boy’s straitlaced single father who could use a little color in his life.
Davis Carter may be the town’s favorite animal whisperer, but his experience is limited when it comes to understanding his preteen’s rebellious behavior. Desperate for a breakthrough, he follows the lead of a free spirit who claims to know the way into his son’s closed-off world. Soon, Davis isn’t the only one caught up in the hope of a new beginning.
Just as Callie considers trading her unattached existence for a life rich with promise and permanence, an unexpected visit from the past threatens to send her packing once again. Davis and Callie must learn to surrender their fears so they can find a love that will outlast the summer.

my thoughts
Lenox has become one of my favorite fictional destinations. The residents are genuine, kind, and community-minded. Folks are connected to each other and eager to lend a hand or offer advice. It is delightful to watch relationships grow from this rich foundation of shared experiences and connections.
Callie Quinn has utilized her artistic abilities to maintain a nomadic lifestyle. I’ve always envied her creative talents and seemingly free-spirited approach to life. (If y’all have any suggestions for supporting a family of six in a full-time RV lifestyle, let me know! I am SO dreaming!) Learning the root of her choices and what she thinks of herself just made me love her more for her authenticity.
Davis Carter is a Mister Steady poster boy if ever there was one. He is all patience, kindness, and healer of animals. Davis is a devoted dad as well and willing to admit when he is wrong and apologize which is hero material in my book! He has a great support system even when his pride makes it uncomfortable to ask for help. Davis and Callie’s personalities complement one other so beautifully!
I’ll be revisiting this series for future pleasure reading and I highly recommend it!
I requested the opportunity to read this book through the publisher and later borrowed it through Kindle Unlimited. The opinions expressed are my own.

Have y’all read A New Shade of Summer by Nicole Deese or other titles from this author?
Are you adding them to the tbr right now?
I think I would enjoy a nomadic lifestyle for a while, but I would also end up with unsettled children. They’re home bodies! And then there’s that space issue with seven of us!

Yep, so true! If we can just transfer those home vibes to a travel trailer, we’d be set!

It did appeal to me as a young person but now at 42 years old I’m a home body. I love reading about interesting places and adventures. I would still like travel some, just not all the time.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I’m a homebody too! That’s why I’d have to bring my “home” with me ????

I’m definitely a homebody. A tiny house would give me claustrophobia.
I loved this book. Nicole is one of my favorite authors.

I would love to travel. I don’t think I would enjoy it as a lifestyle though. I need to connect with my dear friends on a regular basis.
