Sprouts of Love by Valerie ComerCan love sprout amid a tsunami of vegetables?

Single mom Evelyn Felton takes on another part-time job managing a greenhouse and garden project for Grace Fellowship. Formerly homeless, she’s thrilled to offer truckloads of fresh produce to the Arcadia Valley food bank.

If only Ben Kujak weren’t running Corinna’s Cupboard singlehandedly, he’d be delighted to be on the receiving end. But Evelyn and her dynamo daughter, Maisie, won’t take no for an answer, even if it means restructuring Ben’s charity.

Soon Ben finds himself wishing they’d transform his personal life, too, but can true love sprout when their pasts collide with the present?

My Thoughts

This sweet, small town romance is packed with cooking, kids, critters, gardening, and second chances. It’s great to see stories like this one bringing attention to important issues like nutrition, homelessness, and forgiveness. I especially appreciate a book that both encourages and entertains.

Evelyn Felton has been pulling herself up by her bootstraps for the last several years. Anyone who has spent any amount of time with tweens can sympathize with the hopes, frustrations, and neverending energy required to be the single parent of one. Evelyn works and she works hard! She is a good mama to boot.

Maisie is an active and passionate young girl with a big heart for the suffering (both people and potential pets). She boldly earned a place in my reader heart from her first appearance in the novella collection (Romance Grows in Arcadia Valley). Y’all are going to love her!

Ben Kujak has been helping the needy for years in Arcadia Valley but his heart is weighed down with grief. He’s overworked and nearly overwhelmed by the everyday operation of the food bank/soup kitchen. Ben has a great work ethic but he could use some help in the organization and manpower departments.

Sprouts of Love is crafted with an engaging storyline and refreshingly authentic characters. I can’t say it often enough, I am thrilled with this multi-author project! I highly recommend it to readers who enjoy small town romance, fresh food, or encouraging community.

I requested the opportunity to read this book through the author. The opinions expressed are my own.
