First Responder Ronnie Spencer has a no-dating-firefighters rule. She lost her father to a fire, and won’t risk the heartbreak of losing someone else. But when Steve McNeal returns, Ronnie’s heart is tested.
How can she swear off dating a firefighter when she has to work with the one man she used to love? When the unthinkable happens, Ronnie has doubts. How can a loving God allow tragedy to stalk her life again?
As her faith wavers, Ronnie must decide. Will their blossoming relationship be quickly extinguished by the very thing she feared, or will Ronnie trust God and allow her heart to be rescued–even if that means giving it to a firefighter?
My Thoughts
Y’all, this book really made me a happy gal! Rescue Me has a great combination of outdoor adventure, emergency responder action, spiritual growth, and sweet romance. I love the Rocky Mountain setting with skiing, an adorable little girl, and Christmas to boot!
Steve McNeal stole my reader heart from the very beginning. He is so sweet yet patiently determined to win back his lady love. Steve is also a dedicated firefighter AND a man of faith! Now throw in his handsome appearance and charming personality, this guy is a catch!
Greif stricken Ronnie Spencer is still reeling from the death of her firefighter father. Her hurt is keeping her from living and loving. Ronnie has distanced herself from both Steve and God. Her journey to healing is encouraging and inspirational.
I enjoyed this title and look forward to reading more of Sandy’s work in the future!

I just love finding “new to me” authors and the triumphant feeling when I finish the book and it was fabulous is obviously very addictive. Exhibit A: my TBR (that’s “to be read” in case you were wondering) list would take at least 3 years to read at the rate of one book a day IF I would stop adding books to it… which of course, I won’t. So, I don’t fight my addiction, I feed it and the knowledge that I will very likely NEVER run out of books to read makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
