Write Me Home by Crystal Walton - Faithfully Bookish #review

He lives by his heart. She lives by her plans. Until they lose control of both.

Returning to his hometown in the Catskills is the last thing firefighter Ethan DeLuca’s ready for. He’d rather leave memories where they belong—buried under ashes. But if he doesn’t step up to take care of Nonna, who will? Working at the camp down the road seems like the perfect solution. Until his feisty redheaded boss ends up being one fire he has no idea how to put out.

Cassidy McAdams is on a mission. Get the camp Grandpa left her ready to sell, turn enough profit to bail Mom’s business out of foreclosure, and hightail it back to her life in New York City. With unexpected complications mounting, she can’t afford any distractions. Especially a ridiculously charming one who’s eager to rescue her at every turn.

It’d be easier on them both to hide behind professional boundaries. But when unexplained attacks on the camp ignite a connection between them they can’t ignore, running away is no longer an option.

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed reading Write Me Home, it was funny, poignant, full of sweet moments, and left me with a warm and fuzzy satisfied feeling! Ethan DeLuca is committed to making sure his grandmother takes care of herself after her heart attack but moving back to his hometown is the last thing he wants to do. He is a dedicated firefighter, occasional handyman, and protective to the core. Ethan’s guilt over a tragic accident seems to drive his need to save everyone.

Cassidy is trying to close a chapter of her life after her grandfather’s death so she can hurry back to her life in the city as soon as possible. Although she has the support of her colorful, free-spirited best friend Ti, she’s in over her head trying to get the summer camp she inherited ready for sale.

Ethan is drawn to Cassidy, even after she makes it clear that she is not interested in being rescued. They frustrate one another at first but let their guard down when they unite to save the camp. Write Me Home is a story of healing, mystery, and romance. Throw in Cassidy’s cat and a lovable stray dog for good measure and this book has made its way into my heart and onto my favorites list!

I requested the opportunity to read and review this book through the author. The opinions expressed are my own.
