about the author
Kat Armstrong is a Mexi-German Bible teacher, author, and the cofounder of The Polished Network. Her books are filled with heartfelt and funny stories about being a working mom, pastor’s wife, and a Bible nerd.
She’s not afraid to touch on really hard conversations about justice, but she does so with compassion and grace. (As much as that is possible for an Enneagram 8.)
When she’s not doing a deep dive into a Bible topic, she’s consuming a lot of Nutella. Mmm. Nutella.

five favorite ways to enjoy nutella for nutella enthusiasts
by Kat Armstrong, author of The In-Between Place: Where Jesus Changes Your Story
As a Nutella enthusiast, it pains me to think you might have a jar of Nutella sitting in your pantry and be totally unaware of the wonderful opportunities for spreading such glorious yumminess. In an effort to make sure no Nutella goes to waste, I’d like to offer you some not-so-creative ways to enjoy more Nutella. You’re welcome.
Breakfast Foods. If you have not yet tried to smother your pancakes, waffles, French toast, English muffins, or just regular ol’ toast in Nutella, set out the jar for tomorrow morning. Melted Nutella is a great way to start the day. They say breakfast is your most important meal. So why settle for anything but Nutella-covered carbs?
Snack Foods. You can take any ordinary, dare I say boring, snack and dip straight into Nutella. Pretzels might be the first to come to mind, but I’d challenge you to consider all the salty snacks you packed in your purse. A sturdy chip, dip it right in there and be blessed by the goodness. I’ve heard of some even dunking celery sticks in it.
Lunch Treat. I don’t know who needs to hear this, but Nutella sandwiches are the new PB&J. I know. This could be read as a hot take, but trust me on this. Once you try it, PB&Js will be a thing of the past.
Milkshake Ingredient. Spread, smother, and dip are not your only options, friends. YOU CAN BLEND NUTELLA RIGHT INTO YOUR MILKSHAKES. Obviously, I’m no health guru, but it seems to me, Nutella might be a protein ingredient to the “smoothies” people are drinking these days.
Ice Cream Topping. Did you know you could scoop some Nutella, microwave it for 10 seconds, and then pour it over your ice cream like a topping?! This, my friends, is a game-changer, and thank you for attending my Nutella TedTalk
B: Well, that made me hungry! Thank you so much for encouraging our Nutella habits, Kat!

Jesus’ journey to the woman at the well in Samaria offers insights and hope for women today to make peace with the past, find hope in the present, and step into the future.
God wants us to move toward the goodness He has planned for us. But what do we do when challenges stop our forward momentum? What’s the next step when we fall into a pit of despair with the determination knocked right out of us?
On his way from Judea to Galilee, Jesus traveled through Samaria, a broken place everyone knew to avoid. In Samaria he stopped in Shechem, where evil had gained such a foothold of power that it eventually reigned. Yet the place once condemned as somewhere no one wanted to visit—let alone hang out in for a while—was the location of one Samaritan woman’s most hope-filled encounter with the Savior.
The In-Between Place offers deeply important insights to anyone who feels stuck and can’t see a way forward. It is for the person who feels that if she looks left, her face will be scraped by an immovable boulder, and if she looks right, she’ll see nothing but hard to handle. It’s for the person who feels lost and is not sure she is worth the effort to be found, for the person who feels overlooked and unfulfilled. Because sometimes Jesus saves our greatest spiritual breakthroughs for our in-between places.
