B: This makes a lot of sense.
What is your favorite activity or hobby not related to books?
D: Cooking and baking! Love to try new dishes and host dinner parties. It’s relaxing, and also allows my work in progress to “cook.” I also enjoy roasting my own coffee beans.
B: I’m unfortunately more fond of baking and eating the results than I am of cooking meals and such.
What are some of the challenges you faced while writing Airborne?
D: Research! I had an idea about a virus unleashed on an international flight, but the more I looked into it, the more I realized the extent of research needed for a credible story. Then all the details I needed seemed to dump into my lap.
B: Seems you’ve also organized a worldwide case study… (we just have to laugh sometimes, my friends!)
What did you learn or discover while writing Airborne?
D: Because of the research needed in exploring worldwide viruses, quarantine restrictions, the work of the CDC, involvement of government agencies during times of health crisis, testing requirements, and the courageous work of first responders and medical personnel, I was not afraid during the current COVID19 crisis. The precautions were expected as though I’d been there before. Eerie at times, yet other times comforting to draw upon insights I’d learned.

What book(s) are you reading right now?
D: Last Call
B: I love that you shared what’s up next! A good reader is always ready with another book (or two)!
What is your reading style?
D: I prefer my iPad and iPhone, and I read them anywhere. In the car, as a passenger. 🙂 Grocery store line. Post office line. Airport line. While dinner is cooking. On the treadmill, elliptical, and stationary bike. And sometimes in the bathtub.
B: It’s always a good time to read.
What is your next release and/or what are you working on now?
D: Currently, I’m writing Shadows of the Past, a working title. To protect her sister, a woman serves fifteen years for a murder she didn’t commit.
B: What a huge sacrifice!
What’s your writing style?
D: I’m an organic writer. My definition for organic is that I discover my character, then write through wants, needs, goals, desires, and a host of other definers. That makes me a pantser with quirks. 🙂
B: Nothing wrong with having quirks! I prefer them as a matter of fact!
Do you have any writing quirks?
D: Lots of strong, black coffee. I can write anywhere.

The book sounds good. I like that it’s about an airborne virus. I like that it may have been deliberately let loose and that they have to quarantined. Parts of it sound like current events. I live romantic suspense. Thanks for the chance.

I do love the community outpourings, Italian neighborhoods singing together from their homes, “Some Good News” videos, and the compassion it has brought out. But, definitely, cou6do without the deadly virus.

I definitely wish this virus was fiction. Our son is an ICU nurse and he has seen too much. We have lost 4 people we know. This sounds like a great book.
