Hi, reader friends and happy weekend to you! Around here weekends have been few and far between due to my husband’s work schedule and overtime. On the rare occasion that we actually get the chance to enjoy a weekend (usually because he has taken a vacation day), we embrace it wholeheartedly! I think y’all can figure out where I’m going with this, yes?!
Yes! WE are celebrating a WEEKEND so don’t look for me online, I’m hiding from my computer and we might even run away from the internet altogether. We’ll be hanging out in our own little family bubble for the next few days but I’ll be itching to catch up with y’all when I get back so tell me about the last time you took a break from technology or your regular routine!

This book is one of my highly anticipated reads for 2018! Unfortunately, I still haven’t had a chance to read it yet (even though it released way back in February), which a little bit breaks my reader heart.
If you’ve read it, tell me how you think it is similar and/or different from Sundin’s previous series. Keep it spoiler free, I beg you! I am a “dive right in” variety reader… the less I know, the better! Blurbs, settings, sometimes even genres remain unknown and the story speaks for itself.
Usually… but I’m desperate for a little taste so help a reader friend out.

Today I shared the first couple of lines from Fiona Davis’ upcoming book “The Masterpiece” on my blog. But as I’m only about 25% into the book, let me share the first few lines of the chapter I’m currently reading.
“Clara had seen Levon only twice since he’d taken her class five days earlier: once in a crowded hallway, where he’d given her a salute as he brushed by, and another time on the concourse of the terminal, where she was certain he’d spotted her but pretended not to.
His puerile behavior annoyed her. She had no way of knowing if he’d upheld his end of the bet and insisted that Mr. Lorette keep her on.”

My book club loved this book! Today I shared from Murder at The Flamingo by Rachel McMillan. But here I’ll share the first line from a book on my TBR shelf, Justice Buried by Patricia Bradley — It wasn’t too hot for 10:00 P.M. in the middle of May unless you were about to climb over the ledge of a fourteen-story building in downtown Memphis.

She sensed someone had entered the room, even though she’d been dozing and hadn’t heard the whoosh of the door opening or the squeak of athletic shoes on the tile floor. Her eyes felt glued shut.

Happy ‘belated’ Friday!! I was out of town and that was the last time I took a break from the computer and it felt great. I also had a chance to read Where Shadows meet by Colleen Coble and The Undoing of Saint Silvanus by Beth Moore, while I was on this trip. Both good books so far.
