Happy Friday, reader friends! A couple of weeks ago, little Suzie Q. (my furbaby) got her summer cut and now it’s her people’s turn! A couple of us are getting professional cuts today then tomorrow, I’ll be whipping out the trimmers for everyone else who just wants a simple cut.
Growing up, we always went to a beautician but I enjoy going the diy route with my hubby and kids! I have even let my husband cut my hair on occasion (when I was wearing it longer). How do y’all feel about leaving your hair in the hands of your loved ones?
Would you brave a diy hairdo? Do you feel safer calling in a professional OR are you willing to pony up the big bucks for the royal treatment?

I’ve actually never had my hair ‘proffesionally’ cut…my Mom has always done it. ^.^ Growing up, she used to cut it alllll the time because I loved having it short, just below my ears. Now, I haven’t had it short in many years, but she still trims it for me (one of the blessings of living at home still ;)). However, I am hesitant to ever cut anyone else’s hair…even for a trim!

I go to a professional but I do sometimes cut my husband’s hair, using the clippers and with limited use of scissors…..so, it isn’t extremely complicated.

My mom was a ‘beautician’ owning her own shop, “The Beauty Box”, as they called hair dressers when I was little and I loved it when she’d rarely ‘fix’ my hair I loved it. I only go to the hair dresser to get my hair cut, have never colored my hair and as I got older I had it ‘fixed’ for prom and then older I got perms up until about 15 years ago, then the cuts. I have some funny memories of my mom going to ‘beauty’ school, she tried to cut my hair and messed it up so bad she had to take me to the school for the instructor to ‘fix’, lol. Then years later after she’d given up her shop she was cutting my grandmothers hair and thought she’d picked up the thinning shears but got the scissors instead, she’d made a few cuts before she noticed it, everyone laughed and never let her forget it, lol.

I frequently cut my own hair! Having naturally curly hair, it is fairly easy, and rather forgiving. I like lots of layers. So I flip my hair over, bush it out and snip, snip, snip. Flip back over and, wa-la! Layers! Of course I end up with a bit of a “V” in the middle of the back. So I have handed my husband the scissors and said, cut right there. He’s not thrilled (because he’s worried he’ll mess it up), but he does! I also color my own hair. Now my husband and son, prefer to go to a professional. I may have cut my son’s sideburns un-even once, and now they don’t trust me.
I really enjoyed reading this book! It is such a fun, and fast-paced story! Have a wonderful weekend Beth!

The only friends I give the scissors to are friends that are stylists! ???? I’ve cut my kids hair but only when it was a simple trim or buzz cut, otherwise we leave it to the professionals!

I love this cover. I go to a hairdresser who cuts out of her house. We have become friends over the years. When my mom was alive we would go at the same time, to the same hair dresser, then go out to lunch afterwards. Since my son was in middle school I have cut his hair using an electric razor. He has always like it very short. I cut his hair until two years ago when he got married. And now he will still come over to get it cut when his wife is out of town for more than a week. And my husband asked if I would cut his hair at the same time.

I have The Pirate Bride on my ever growing TBR list.
When our two sons were growing up I cut their hair and my hubby’s hair. I have even cut my own hair from time to time, but that is a bit more difficult as it is hard to see in the back. So, I go to the hair dresser to get my hair cut.

If I had a family member who could cut hair, I would go for it, but I’m not inclined to let my hubby near my hair with scissors. (He won’t let me cut his, either. :))

My hair is long and straight, so there is not much you can do with it…lol. I wish I could curl it, but curls never seem to stay–they always fall out. Happy Saturday!

Oooh! Thank you so much for this giveaway! I just read the third book in the series, The Captured Bride (which was amazing, incidentally) And I have some catching up to do! I don’t have to have the royal treatment, although it is nice from time to time, but haircuts in my world are something you go have somebody else do! I would consider giving a haircut to my husband, but his barber does a marvelous job, and TBH, I love the smell of the hair pomade they use, & I’m not willing to give that up!

I’ve always had poodle-curly, unstraightenable, frizzy hair. I went to a salon once to get it cut and HATED it! Forever after I always trim my own hair. I know all of its quirks and don’t trust anyone else to touch it. It dries completely differently than when it’s wet, and no one but me knows how it looks. I also have only one style that I’ve worn forever because my hair doesn’t grow and is thin. Sigh. Well, we all have different issues to deal with.

I would not cut my own hair nor trust just anyone to do it…..I’ve had to live with the consequences of a bad haircut before. When I was young, I also watched my mom cut my sister’s long hair shorter and shorter to try to get it even. She ended up with a super short cut from a professional because that was all that was left by the time ny mom took her to a salon.

Oh the days of long ago when I did venture forth with scissors and cut my own hair. I even tried a couple of times to do the home perm. And once there was no shampoo & no money so I washed my hair with powdered clothes detergent. That was a disaster.
I’d just love to win this since I missed getting a review copy.
