Good Friday

Hello, reader friends! In lieu of our usual First Line Fridays post, I’d like to share a portion of scripture from John 19 in honor of Good Friday.

Good Friday

After this, Jesus, knowing that all things had already been accomplished, to fulfill the Scripture, said, … “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

This is an abbreviated version of verses 28-30 taken from the NASB (read more here). I’ll be spending time with my family today so y’all have a blessed weekend as we remember and celebrate the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

  1. Hope you have a joyous Easter! ❤

    My first line is –
    “Fire!”
Jess McGrath tore the fire extinguisher off the fire extinquisher off the wall before running back to the blaze in her brother’s office.

  2. The ultimate last and first line! Thanks for the reminder.

On my blog I am sharing from A Loyal Heart by Jody Hedlund, but here I will share from a new addition to my TBR pile, The Weaver’s Daughter by Sarah E. Ladd. “Alarm’s menacing sting pricked Kate Dearborn’s consciousness and hurried her steps.” Happy Friday!

  3. My frist paragraph is from: Life on the Porcelain Edge by C.E. Hilbert

Tessa Tarrington’s life was in the toilet.
    Job? FIRED
    Dad? HEART ATTACK
    Current residence? CHILDHOOD BEDROOM
    Love life? NON-EXISTENT.
Her life was swirling in the bowl, just waiting for the ultimate flush.

It’s humorous but deals with hard issues.

    Easter blessings!

  4. Happy Good Friday!
My FLF is from Safely Home by Randy Alcorn. “Three men watched intently as peculiar events occurred, one right after the other, on opposite sides of the globe.”
Hope you have a wonderful Resurrection weekend! 🙂

  6. I love the Lord for all He’s done for us! How can we ever praise Him enough? Amazing grace, indeed! Happy Easter! I’m a day late because of Good Friday commitments yesterday. The book I’m sharing on my blog is The Social Tutor by Sally Britton. I enjoyed this novel. Here, I’m sharing the first line from another one of her books I just finished reading this week called Martha’s Patience. “If you do not stop this instant, I may have to faint.”
