Beth: Congratulations on 10 years as a published author, Mary!

Five Favorite Characters (from your own books)

Mary: This was not easy, I listed five, then thought of more, then deleted and added and moved them around, in case anyone would think I was listing them as MOST favorite to LEAST favorite, but then what if they thought I as listing them from LEAST favorite to MOST favorite.

This is a tricky and HARD question, Beth! Shame on you!

Justin Boden from the Cimarron Legacy Series, he’s the hero of the book releasing this month, book #2 Long Time Gone

Ethan Kincaid from In Too Deep, book #2 of the Kincaid Brides series

Ruthy MacNeil from Swept Away, book #1 of the Trouble in Texas Series

Bailey Wilde from the Wild at Heart series, she was the heroine of book #3 Fire and Ice

Belle Tanner from the Montana Marriages series and the Sophie’s Daughters series

Beth: I am groveling and apologizing profusely for putting you through any undue emotional stress. Your efforts are greatly appreciated! Just to show my sincere gratitude (and since I’m completely cover obsessed), I included all the covers for each series! So pretty!

Mary: Long Time Gone is book #2 in the Cimarron Legacy Series.

The Boden clan thought their problems had ended with the death of a dangerous enemy, but have they truly uncovered the real plot to take their New Mexico ranch? Rancher Justin Boden is now in charge. He is normally an unshakable and rugged man, but with his brother, Cole, shot and in mortal danger, even a tough man faces doubts. And it doesn’t help that Angie DuPree, the assistant to the doctor trying to save Cole, is as distracting a woman as Justin ever laid eyes on.

With her and the doc’s timely skills, Cole looks to be on the mend, and Justin and the rest of the Bodens can turn their attention back to the dangers facing them. It’s clear now that everything that’s occurred is part of a much bigger plot that could date back to a decades-old secret. Can they uncover all the pieces before danger closes in on them, or is the threat to the ranch even bigger than any of the Bodens could imagine?

Beth: I am beside myself excited about this book! Seriously, I’m watching my mailbox and sending the kids down the drive every afternoon to check and double check for bookmail! ????

What are you working on now?

Mary: I’m working hard on book #3 of the series, Too Far Down. The final chapter of the Cimarron Legacy Saga, coming in October.

Cimarron Legacy Series

Beth: Those covers!!! *sigh* I love them! And I’m amazed it’s already up for preorders on Amazon!

Mary: And I’ve just turned in a new novella for Bethany House, due out at Christmas Time, with Karen Witemeyer, Regina Jennings and Melissa Jagears. My book, untitled as of yet, will feature little kids all grown up, from the Kincaid Brides Series.

Then I need to dig into the next series called High Sierra Sweethearts. We can talk more about that another time.

Beth: Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!!! The Kincaid children are so adorable, can’t wait for that novella!
I’m completely relieved that the favorites picking trauma didn’t scare you off for good! I’ll try to be more sensitive next time.
Thank you so much for visiting with us today and sharing your bookish news and favorites, Mary!

Do YOU have a favorite Mary Connealy character?

      1. Virginia, that is the best MEAN! Heroine ever. Although Bailey Wilde was pretty good. It’s hard to balance that tough, crankiness without losing the likeable – ness of a character.

  1. I love her writing! She is one of my favorite. I think Bellevue was my favorite of Husband Tree, but would love to see a book about her daughter that got married and she left behind!

  2. My favorite character to date is Belle Tanner in The Husband Tree. Books and character rarely stick in my head but this book and this character have ever since I read for the first time. It’s has been worth reading again and I’ve done so. Go Belle!

    1. I forgot to write my favorite Character by Mary. The one I like best is Belle Tanner Harding or whatever her last name wound up being. LoL. I would like to be a Belle, strong and courageous, taking nothing off of anyone but truly a Lady as well.

  4. Bailey is a favorite of mine.

Wow, Mary is coming out with a lot this year, and I still have most of her backlist (I started with the Wild at Heart trilogy) to read! I’m loving the Bodens and checking my mail daily – if I had children it would be checked more often 😉

  6. Mary I love all your books. I think my favorite characters (really hard choice) would have to be Belle and Silas from the Montana series

  7. This is hard to choose. I guess I will pick Ethan Kincaid because he smiles and laughs. We need more light-hearted, fun heroes in books.

  8. I don’t know how Mary writes so many books with all the cattle ranchly things she does, too! (And yes, I did make up the word ranchly). This new book looks and sounds soooooo good. Mary has such a great sense of humor. 😀

  9. I think it’s too hard to pick a favorite Mary Connealy character, though Vince did come to mind from the Trouble in Texas series. That cover shot of Rafe on Out of Control can still make me swoon a bit. I love all of Mary’s books. Thanks for featuring her today and for the giveaway of Long Time Gone. I haven’t read that one yet, though I read the previous books in the series and am anxious to read it.

  13. Beth, I’m sad to say that I haven’t read a Mary Connealy authored book, yet. Since romantic comedy is probably my favorite romance sub-genre, people tell me that I will love her books. I even own two different series of hers. It’s funny, but when I actually own a copy of a book, it takes me longer for me to get to it. 🙂 #voraciousreaderproblems

  15. I am new to these books so i dont have a favorite yet. But from reading the descriptions on some of the books, I am drawn to Belle. She seems to be very strong, resilent and independent. Yet I sense she is also wanting to be loved. Will be reading these books as i love westerns!

  16. I am going to judge a book by its cover! So I will step out and say “Sharron” is my favorite since she is on my list to read in “Now and Forever” due to the pictured lady on the book cover. Besides being cute, her expression compels me to read her story! Her expression shows a big twinkle in her eye, as well as mischief and wittiness!
