2016 Favorites: New-to-Me Authors

I’ve had the absolute pleasure of meeting (via books and in person) many new wonderful and talented authors this year. Let me tell y’all, I worked and worked to narrow my favorite new-to-me authors down to 10 but it’s just not happening!

Again in no particular order, I am eager to read anything (and everything) published by the following authors whose work I’ve read for the first time this year! Author pictures are linked to their websites, so go check them out!

The Lady and the LionHeart left me speechless…

I’ll work on “squeezing words out of feelings” (#swoof for short, y’all…) that’s what happens when this reviewer struggles to find adequate words for the incredible aftermath of experiencing the work of a talented storyteller. Look for that review in the new year 😉

PLEASE tell me your favorite “new-to-me” authors (I love meeting new authors!) and let me know if any of my favorites are your favorites too!

  1. Jen Rodewald, Joanne Bischof, Pepper Basham, Connilyn Cossette, and Lori Benton were all new to me authors this year too. They are all on my ‘must read’ list for future releases 🙂 Many of the others are on my must read list too, but I discovered the pre-2016 ????

    1. I had to keep going back to goodreads and checking the dates on my reads! So many other authors are on my favorites list for this year but I didn’t want to make it a 2 day post!

  2. Jen Rodewald, Kara Isaac, Kristi Ann Hunter, Pepper Basham, Joanne Bischof, and Susan Anne Mason were new to me in 2016. I have read and loved Candace Calvert, Ronie Kendig, Becky Wade, and Rachel Hauck’s books before this year. I have books by Michelle Griep, Katherine Reay, and Lori Benton on my Kindle waiting, I’ve heard a lot of good things about the other authors you have listed. I’ll have to add them to my TBR continent.

I would add Catherine West, Nicole Deese, Victoria Bylin, Dawn Crandall, Melissa Tagg, Janet Ferguson, Regina Jennings. I can see your dilemma in trying to narrow it down. It’s quite impossible. At least we won’t run out of reading material anytime soon. 😀

  3. So honored to have “met” you–and to be on your list among such talented storytellers. You’re a blessing to all of us, Beth. Thank you. And here’s to new books (and new friendships!) in 2017.

    1. Aw, Candace, thank you! And I have to say, your foodie flare landed you firmly on my list and every time I went over it trying to shorten the list I would remember the strawberries and knew you had to stay! 😀

  4. Good way to do the list! Kristi Ann Hunter is a new favorite for sure! Michelle Griep and The Captive Heart! ❤️ Some of these are a favorite too but can’t remember if I first read them in 2016! My brain! ????

  5. Beth, you and I share many favorite authors! In the Biblical fiction category, I would add Lynn Austin. Connilyn Cossette is on my radar too. I love Becky Wade, Lori Benton and Joanne Bischof.

I’m looking forward to more incredible Christian fiction in 2017!
